On Searchability
The Net is Bigger than Anyone Expected

Today’s search engines search only the surface of the internet. It is estimated that there are approximately 550 million websites out on the net, but today’s search engines search only  1 million of them.

Early last year, BrightPlanet published a 41-page document on the internet, which shocked many. The document indicated that the web is 500 times larger than search engines show, implying that search engines scratch only the surface of the net.

This unseen part of the net has been dubbed “the invisible net”. BrightPlanet itself calls it “the deep net”, because it lies hidden under the surface.

In the early days of the web, there were only static websites. Now we’ve come a step farther, showing dynamic webpages that retrieve data from databases. Examples are publishing solutions, and e-commerce systems.

Most net solutions today are not searchable. Users don’t come any farther in than the front page. Thousands of pages could have been searchable and accessible by search engines, but often only one page--usually the front page, the entrance to the database--of a site is searchable.

The problem is, generally speaking, that search engines simply don’t come to dynamic sites: those which can retrieve and display data from a database. This requires modern programming technicians. Today’s engines just can’t tackle it.

Our solutions are searchable

All of ViaNett’s solutions are 100% searchable by all of today’s search engines. We have created our solutions so that engines can pick up every single page.

By ‘our solutions’, we mean ViaNett Publishing, E-business, News, Forum, and SmartWeb.

This means that all of our solutions are accessible via Google, Altavista, Excite, and Kvasir.

Newspapers and net portals which choose to use ViaNett Publishing will have merit among the competition. All of their news and information will be accessible to the whole world via thousands of search engines.

When you choose to use ViaNett E-business, all of your goods are accessible by search engine, all the way down to the warehouse level.

We can demonstrate

Go to http://www.kvasir.no/. Enter ‘smsmp3’ in the search field, and you’ll pull up all the information from http://www.smsmp3.no/,  from all its pages: newspage, forum, and  e-business. Smart, don’t you think?

5 or 6 major net newspapers have written about smsMP3. Did you find them in your search?
